Abigail Fuller

Abigail M. Fuller, 79, of Hooksett, NH passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Elliot Hospital, Manchester, NH.

Born in Springfield, MA, she was the daughter of the late Milton and Doris (Kelleher) Fuller. Raised and educated in the Pioneer Valley region of MA, Abigail received her Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts at MassArt Boston and her Master's Degree in Fine Arts at UMASS Amherst. Abigail proudly served her community as an art teacher in Pittsfield and Adams, MA for several decades.

A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Abigail's family was paramount in her life. Affectionately known as Gail and Abby, she cherished time spent with her grandchildren and many dear friends. A talented artist, Abby created abstract art in a variety of mediums; clay, paint, and pencil. Abby constructed politically inspired metal and clay totem poles in response to current events. From a young age, Abby was a staunch supporter of civil right and equality for all regardless of race, creed, gender, or sexual orientation. She spent the majority of her adult life advocating for change, talking about her personal struggles with racial discrimination, and encouraging others who face adversity. Following her teaching career, Abby retired to Antrim, NH where she spent time tending to her flowers, creating her art, and engaging in political action. Abby will be best remembered for her dedication to her community and love of family.

Abigail is survived by her daughter, Selene Sevigny and son-in-law Lon of Hooksett, NH; two sons, Gordon Dillard, Jr. of Keene, NH and Stephen Dillard of Littleton, MA; three granddaughters, Lorelei Sevigny, Jennelle Dillard, and Madeline Dillard; daughter-in-law, Christina Dillard of Littleton, MA; dear friend of over 60 years, Dolores Collier; several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Claire Hillard and her son Aidan Dillard.
