Adrienne Johnson

Adrienne M. Johnson of Laconia, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025, at the age of 85. She was the beloved widow of Nathaniel M. Johnson and a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and mentor to many.

Born in Boston, MA, Adrienne was the cherished sister of Theodore, Peter, Conrad, and Robert. She is survived by her children, Andrew Johnson and Elizabeth Johnson, and her beloved grandchildren, Natalie, Nicole, Heather and Sarah, all of whom brought her immense joy and pride.

A woman of remarkable talent and entrepreneurial spirit, Adrienne was the founder and owner of Quilting Techniques Inc. She held a patent for fabric appliqué and was the original trademark holder for Flip 'n' Sew paper piecing—pioneering methods that left a lasting mark in the quilting world. Her love for textile arts extended beyond business; she was an early member of the Belknap Mill Quilters Guild and freely shared her expertise and creativity with others.

Adrienne brought passion and heart to everything she did. She volunteered with the Nursery Guild, assisted children with learning disabilities, and was always quick to offer support to anyone in need. She also served her community with dedication as a member of the Board of Assessors for the City of Laconia. Whether organizing an event, helping a friend, or pitching in for a cause, she gave of herself wholeheartedly and with characteristic daring.

She found joy in the arts—quilter, illustrator, and watercolorist— and was a devoted reader, and listener of jazz and classical music. Known for her impeccable style, she enjoyed dressing with flair, dining out with family and friends, and traveling for her business, always adding a touch of elegance and enthusiasm wherever she went.

Adrienne will be fondly remembered for her verve for life, her deep care for family, her generosity of spirit, and for making legendary Polish beans and unforgettable picnic lunches at the beach.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and service. Adrienne's memory will be treasured always by those fortunate enough to know her.
