GOFFSTOWN - Agnes Blanche Shellmer (nee Whitenack), 77, died May 24, 2014, at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, a few months after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
She was born March 15, 1937, in Weehawken, N.J., daughter of Clarence Whitenack and Agnes Simons Whitenack, She was raised in Lake Hopatcong, N.J., and later raised her family in Pine Beach, N,J. She moved from New Jersey to Bedford, Mass., in 1979.
She worked as a senior systems analyst for Unisys and later, Bettelle. Prior to retiring, she lived and worked in Panama, for the Panama Canal Commission. She retired in 2000 and moved to Goffstown.
She loved nature and outdoor activities. She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, and many hobbies. Above all she loved her family and friends.
She is survived by four children: Glenn of Goffstown, Michael and his wife Ann of Methuen, Mass., Kimberly Redmond and her husband Bob of Tewksbury, Mass. and Pamela McCarthy and her husband Paul of Manchester; six grandchildren, Brian, Mallorie, and Joshua Shellmer and Lee, Kyle and Paul Redmond and her step-grandson, Stephen Duhamel. She was the sister of the late William T. Whitenack, and his wife Deborah of Naples, Fla. Former husband, William Shellmer and his wife Laura, and many nephews and neices.
There will be no public service, but her family wants her many friends to know how much their visits, support and well wishes meant to their mother while she was living with pancreatic cancer.
