Alan Blanchard

Alan Mark Blanchard, 75, of Nashua, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at his home, surrounded by loving family and friends.

Alan was the beloved husband of Jean Marie Barrile, and is dearly missed by his brother Mark Blanchard, sister-in-law Marina and their daughter, Kristina; brother Christopher Blanchard; son Jonathan Blanchard and his wife, Aelysha; son Jason Blanchard and his wife, Lisa; daughter Judith (Blanchard) Fox and her husband, Jason; and cherished grandchildren Nicholas, Evan, Sean and Ashley. Alan was close to the Barrile family and leaves two brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law and their children. He was predeceased by his parents, Linden O. Blanchard and Frances M. (Palaro) Blanchard, and his sister, Bonnie (Blanchard) Biheller.

Married to Jean Marie for 35 years, Alan was born on July 18, 1948 in Cambridge, Massachusetts and graduated a year early from Keith Academy of Lowell, after skipping a grade in elementary school. He caught the acting bug while at Boston College, which led to a move to California. Persistently pounding the audition pavement, Alan landed a billboard ad, several commercials and starring roles in two feature-length movies, “Foes” and “Slithis” - both of which were released theatrically and can be found on IMDb.com.

In 1980, Alan returned to Massachusetts, where he took a job as an insurance agent for John Hancock, installed cable for local customers and served as the activities director for Academy Manor. Alan later founded Blanchard Supply of Nashua, where he sold tools and hardware until his retirement in 2013.

Alan loved trivia games, poker, Forty-Fives, chess, creative writing (including his award-winning original screenplay, “The Case Ace”), and above all, his family.
