Alan L. Sielke, 86, of Keene died June 13, 2003 at Genesis Eldercare following a brief illness. Mr. Sielke was born on August 5, 1916 in New York, New York, the son of the late Albert and Annette (Krygsman) Sielke. He graduated with honors form Cooper Union in New York City in the early 1940's and was a charter member of Tau Beta Pi. Mr. Sielke was a civil engineer for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for 20 years. He was a licensed civil engineer and land surveyor. He was a member of the Masonic Temple Lodge #173 in Westwood, New Jersey and was a master mason. In his spare time, Alan carved birds and caned chairs and enjoyed gardening. He had a great love for the outdoors and nature. Family members include; his wife of 61 years, Virginia (Stewart) Sielke; two daughters, Karen E. Sielke of Swanzey Center and Susan M. Sielke of Fitzwilliam; one sister, Adele Drooger of Bellville, Texas; and several nieces.
