Major Albert E. Cappi, 77, USAF Pilot, retired after twenty years, resided in Sanbornville, NH, passed away on November 14, 2017 after a nine year battle with cancer.
He was born in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Dr. John and Stephanie (Gralewski) Cappi. He was the beloved husband of the late Sally Ann Murphy of 32 years.
Major Cappi flew reconnaissance missions in Vietnam in 1969-1970. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 7 in Rochester. He held the office of Post Adjutant and Judge Advocate for the past three years. He was a member of The American Legion Riders, having held the office of President and Secretary. Major Cappi is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a BS in Business.
He is survived by his sister, Barbara Kanavos; his two sons, Mark Cappi and John Cappi; and his daughter Linda Cappi. He lost his sister, Denise Rudolph in 2007 after a fifteen year battle with cancer. He is also survived by his two step daughters; Dawna Marr and Cindie Paradis. He was blessed with ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A private viewing for the family was held on November 17, 2017 at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire in Manchester, NH. There will also be a Celebration of Life at the Rochester American Legion, Post 7. Time and date TBD.
