Alberta Bowen Franklin, NH February 2, 2006 Alberta (Kardokas) Bowen, formerly of Belmont, NH, passed away at Mountain Ridge Center, in Franklin after a period of declining health. She was born in Boston June 26, 1913 and graduated from Dorchester School for Girls. She lived for many years in Quincy, Braintree and Weymouth, Massachusets before moving to NH in January 2004. She worked for 15 years in the Accounting Department of New England Telephone Co. (now Verizon), was a former member of the Telephone Pioneers, Friends of the Weymouth Council on Aging, and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Weymouth, Mass. Her husband, Wilbur Bowen, who died in November 1967 and her daughter Nancy McCarthy, who died in October 2003, predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her parents, sisters Theresa and Veronica, and her brothers Albert, Peter and George. She is survived by her daughter Sandra Gray and her husband George of Belmont, NH, and 7 grandchildren: Michael McCarthy and wife Denise of Berwick ME, Jennifer Hoffert and husband Allan of Brewster, Mass., Matthew Drummey and wife Lisa of Hanover Mass., Robert Drummey and wife Donna of Wareham, Mass., Timothy Drummey and wife Kristen of Hanover Mass., Joseph Drummey of Allston, Mass. and Peter Drummey of So. Boston, Mass. and 10 great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery in the spring. The Cremation Society of NH is in charge of arrangements.
