Alfio John Charles Graceffa, of Nashua, New Hampshire, entered paradise on July 4th, 2022. He was the son of Rosario Graceffa and Margaret Graceffa, neeTerrasi, born on September 17, 1935 in Brooklyn, New York. He attended Franklin K. Lane High School, NYU, and Boston Conservatory.
He is survived by his son, Russell and his wife, Kelly, and grandchildren Christopher and Emily, and his beloved wife, Valerie Cowart. He loved her so!
Al possessed a beautiful baritone voice and appeared in many lead roles in musical theatre, including his favorite, SOUTH PACIFIC. He sang in several choirs, community choral groups and at The Leddy Center for the Performing Arts where he met the love of his life, Valerie Cowart, to whom he was married for 32 years. Together they sang for many years as “Val & Al,” and dedicated themselves to Cowart Studio of Voice.
Al was a gentleman who lived to love and care for others. His generosity and joie de vivre enriched and brought solace to many people and rescued cats. A member of All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, one of his greatest joys was encouraging Valerie in her vocation as a deacon.
There will be no wake. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held. You are lovingly invited to personally memorialize Al. “The greatest thing you’ll ever learn, is just to love and be loved in return.”
