Alice L. Fletcher

Alice Louise Fletcher, 86, of Hartford, VT passed away on Tuesday at 9:05AM on March 4, 2025. She was cremated on March 7, 2025, at Phaneuf Crematorium in Manchester, NH.

Alice was born on April 7, 1938, in Weathersfield, VT, the daughter of the late Frank Brown and Rachel (Foster) Brown. Alice was the beloved wife of the late David A. Fletcher.

A loving mother leaves behind her 5 children: Deborah (and Peter) Sonnhalter of Hartford, VT; Donna Gibson of Lancaster, NH; Renee (her partner Roland/Lee Crawford) Lafoe of Hartford, VT; Bruce (his partner Cheryl Soares) Gibson of Northfield, NH; Ricky (and Cheryl) Gibson of Manchester, NH.

Her 6 surviving siblings are: Beverly Brunt, Norma (Jim) Magoon, Betty Davidson, Richard Brown, Linda (Dale) Clough, Randy (Lori) Brown.

A loving grandmother leaves behind, but will never be forgotten by, her 10 grandchildren: Michelle, Ryan, Justin, Matthew, Cory, Harry III, Ian, Kaleb, Shawn and Laura. We love you, Nana! She is also survived by 28 great grandchildren.

Alice is pre-deceased by her brother, Frank (Sonny) Brown Jr., her grandsons, Thomas Scott Lacasse and Leo Paul Gonyea, her great grandson, Harry Greene IV, a brother-in-law, James Brunt, and a sister-in-law, Joanne Brown.

Following from the farm life and school, Alice became an LNA for Mount Ascutney Hospital for many years. She then worked for David’s House.

After retiring, she went back to doing what she loved so much. Being on her riding lawnmower with her headphones on, she was bopping to the music. Planting flowers and plants around the house. Cooking and baking. Sitting in her chair watching her favorite shows.

There is nothing she wouldn’t do for anyone. Our mother was the most courageous, brave, giving, and loving individual anyone could ever have had in their life. Thank You Mom! We will miss you so much.

It’s clear that mom had a profound impact on our lives. Her selflessness, courage, and love are qualities to be cherished forever.

Our mother’s ability to love everyone unconditionally was a truly remarkable quality. She had a heart of gold and was able to see the good in everyone. She had a special gift; her love and acceptance had a profound impact on everyone around her. Her legacy will continue in our hearts and memories.

Your journey here is done and it’s time for us to let you fly high with your beloved husband and our Lord and Savior.

It’s been 20 years since you’ve waited to be reunited with David (Papa) Fletcher and ALL.

Until we see you again. We will hold you tightly in our Hearts and when we get to Heaven, we will hold you in our Arms.
