Allen J. Seney
Allen Joseph Seney passed away peacefully August 21, 2020 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease at the NH Veterans Home in Tilton, NH. He was predeceased by his wife, Sylvia (Bildheiser) in 2009 and his son, Mark A. Seney in 1989.
Allen was born April 30, 1934 in Fitchburg, MA to Joseph and Dorothy (Sullivan) Seney. He went into the Navy after high school. After his military service, he earned both a Bachelor's and Master's degree at Fitchburg State College in Fitchburg, MA beginning his long career teaching history, a guidance counselor at the high school level, and ï¬nishing his career at the college level admissions assisting them in student enrollment.
Allen was a referee at the high school and college level in both basketball and soccer for 30 years. He was an avid golfer before giving it up in his 70's. After retirement, Allen and Sylvia traveled around the US in their RV, spending months on the road.
Allen is survived by three children, Patricia Halvatzes and her husband, John of Goffstown, NH, Joseph Seney of McKinleyville, CA and Janet Wolff and her husband, Richard of Macungie, PA. Five grandsons, Matthew Halvatzes and his wife, Jennifer of Goffstown, NH, Michael Halvatzes of Goffstown, NH, Erik Wolff and his wife, Meredith of Silver Springs, MD, Mark Wolff of Seattle, WA and Conner Seney of McKinleyville, CA. Two great grandchildren, Taylor McCarthy and Mason Halvatzes of Goffstown, NH.
SERVICES: There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be held privately. Allen's burial will be at the Last Rest Cemetery, Merrimack, NH.
