Alton E. "Al" Connor, 69, passed away unexpectedly on September 30, 2017, just short of his 70th birthday. Born in Boston, MA he was the son of the late E. Lorraine (Tilden) Connor and the late Leonard L. Connor, formerly of Pembroke, NH.
In his life, Al was a devoted son, brother, a proud US Army Veteran, a long-time US Postal Service employee, and a loved Father.
Al proudly served in the United States Army and was awarded the Purple Heart during his multiple tours of duty in Vietnam. He enjoyed his adventures while stationed in Schweinfurt, Germany, Ft. Dix, N.J. and Okinawa, Japan and numerous trips across the United States and Canada. In his younger years he coached youth football, baseball and taught his daughter softball, golf and archery. He developed a love for the practice of law during his time as a legal clerk/court reporter in the Army and, although he never pursued a career in this field after leaving the military, he shared his desire for truth and justice with others.
Al will be remembered for his love of animals, especially dogs and horses, and although he was an avid hunter and fisherman, it was mostly an excuse to be outside surrounded by nature. Al had an outgoing personality and loved to be surrounded by friends and family.
Al is survived by his daughter, Kelly A. (Connor) Warren of Portland, Oregon; his siblings Sharron Greene and Laurence Connor and their spouses; and many nephews and nieces. He is also survived by his former wife (mother of his only child) Barbara Connor of Hooksett, NH.
