Amanda Berrios de Carrillo, 91, died on January 6, 2020 at the Fairview Nursing Home in Hudson, NH. Amanda was born in Puerto Rico on September 20, 1928, the daughter of the late Marcelo Berrios and Ricarda Bonilla. She was the wife of the late Juan A. Carrillo.
After graduating from Commercial College in Puerto Rico at the age of 21, she moved to New York. Early on, she worked at Saks and NYU, and retired early from Nicholas V. Penachio & Sons.
Amanda loved the fine arts and creating paintings of flowers. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and gardening. Her favorite pastime was opening her home to family and friends and cooking their favorite meals.
Amanda is survived by her daughter, Rosemarie E. Sweeney of Hudson, NH; her son, Joe A. Carrillo of Norton, MA; her granddaughters, Amanda L. Sweeney of North Chelmsford, MA, Jenna A. Carrillo of Salem, MA and Justine A. Carrillo of Fitchburg, MA; and one great-granddaughter, Gianna J. Druziako of North Chelmsford, MA. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her brother, Marcelino Berrios.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Those who wish may make a memorial contribution in lieu of flowers to Alzheimer's Association, 166 S. River Rd, Bedford, NH 03110.
