Amy Elizabeth Rowe, 48, of Bedford, passed away on May 24, 2022.
Born in Georgia, she graduated from The Children's school in Atlanta. The family moved to Hingham, Massachusetts where she graduated from Hingham High School. From there Amy proceeded to earn her Criminal Justice degree from Franklin Pierce College, her Master of Education from Notre Dame College, and pursued further graduate studies focused on Special Education Administration.
She first began her career in education working as a teacher and leader at Midway Shelter in Manchester, NH. Her work there inspired her to continue her fight for students in need. She led the development and building of the Contoocook School in Hopkinton, NH which focused on a small group of students with mental illness. From there, Amy became the Director of Special Education at Souhegan High School, and more recently as the Director of Special Services at the Hollis-Brookline school district.
Amy enjoyed traveling, the beach (and warm weather in general), scrapbooking, and taking pictures of her three beautiful children. Her favorite spot was the Nubble Lighthouse in Maine. However, her greatest passion was helping children, especially children in need. She strived to be an advocate for students in need of support to achieve and grow. Amy wanted to be a voice for kids who were unable to vouch for themselves and championed their cause.
Amy is survived by her three amazing children, twins Hunter and Madison, 20, and Peyton Sarsfield, 15. She is also survived by her mother, Elizabeth Rowe of Hull, MA, her father Dr. Thomas Rowe and wife Gene Rowe of Atlanta, GA, Sandra Best of Cave Springs, GA, her brother David Rowe and his fiancee Tesha Figueroa of Bellport, NY, her sister Catherine Manley and her husband Eric of Weymouth, MA, step-sister Taylor Brown and husband Nathan Brown of Atlanta, GA.
