Andrew Benson 61 of Hillsborough New Hampshire passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026 at Concord Hospital.

Andrew was born in Brooklyn New York and moved to New Hampshire in the early 80s And followed his dream to be a dedicated firefighter with the Londonderry, New Hampshire Fire Department for 29 years. He was known for his passion to help others wisdom and humor. Andy loved helping people. It was his nature from a young man. He had a passion for fixing just about anything cars was one of his favorites. He worked at Bud & Jan Lefebvre's Auto Repair in Londonderry New Hampshire since he moved here from NY until this past year. Beyond his retirement, Andy was known for his deep love of animals , books ,shooting at the range with his friends fishing & scuba diving. At the time of his passing he was comforted by his lifelong friends Gordi, who he worked with as well side-by-side in the Fire Department since the early 80s. He was a great mentor when Andy moved here and was hired on the department. They became the best of friends for the last 40 years as well as Sully, who was his neighbor and dear friend in these last few years they would go on boat rides, fish, shooting range and work on cars together and talked every day. Kristen his 29yr best friend who shared the most special relationship from the day they met in 1998 they were an inseparable force together not a day went by, that they did not speak or they were not there for each other. It was a one of a kind cherished friendship. Sully’s wife Ann in addition was by his side through his comfort at the end of life. She was the strength for all of us during the very difficult time and stayed by Andy’s side to ensure he was at peace.

Andy is survived by his beloved ex-wife a long time companion Kristen Benson. He is also remembered fondly by his sister Marge and brother Ricky, and many nephews and nieces as well.

Andy lived with integrity, humility, and deep love his presence was a guiding light to many, and his memory will forever be a blessing and will be missed dearly by many.

A celebration of life will be planned by the family for a later date.
