Angela Marie Marquis (Angie), 89, of Goffstown, NH, died after a long illness with dementia on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at Hillsborough County Nursing Home. Angie was the daughter of Eddie Dionne and Annie Levesque Dionne.
Angie grew up in a country setting in Madawaska, Maine. She left her home in Maine and moved to Connecticut where she met her sweetheart, Peter Marquis. They spent the majority of their 68 year marriage between Rockville, Connecticut, and Manchester, New Hampshire, where they raised their three children. Later, they retired to Sebastian, Florida.
Angie was one of 14 children. In addition to her parents, we acknowledge and honor those in her family that preceded her in death. She is survived by her sweetheart and loving husband, Peter Marquis; her children Paul Marquis and his wife, Dianna, Janet Folsom, and Bill Marquis and his wife, Donna. She leaves behind her four grandchildren: Brandon Marquis and his wife, Christine, Renee Marquis, Jonathan Folsom and his wife, Emilee, and Alyssa Saia and her husband, Dan. She leaves four adoring great-grandchildren: Rebecca, Jackson, and Luke Marquis, and Emmett Saia.
Angie is also survived by her three sisters: Theresa, Jackie and her husband, Bert, Connie and her husband, Guy; and two brothers, Joel and his wife, Carolyn, and John and his wife, Pam. Angie's sister-in-law, Robertine Dryer, and several nieces and nephews survive her as well.
Angie's greatest joy in life was gathering with family and friends and sharing her tremendous gift of hospitality. She was a master of cooking, entertaining, and celebrating all of life's special moments. A woman of great faith, Angie also devoted much of her time and talent to volunteering in many different capacities for her Catholic church communities.
She especially enjoyed gardening, dancing, performing in plays, the beach and most of all, she loved spending leisure time with family and dear friends.
Angie's relatives and friends are welcome to join the family in a memorial gathering in the church vestibule from 9am to 9:45am on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Sainte Marie Church, 378 Notre Dame Avenue, Manchester, New Hampshire. Beginning at 10am will be the mass at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Boston Children's Hospital Trust (491 Park Drive, Suite 602, Boston, MA 02215-5301) would be greatly appreciated; in honor of Angela's great-grandson, Emmett Saia, a cancer survivor.
