Anita C. Bierman

Anita Claire (Blumstein) Bierman, 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Langdon Place, Exeter, surrounded by her loving family.

The daughter of the late Irving and Sue Blumstein, Anita was born in New York City on November 26, 1928. She married the love of her life, Theodore T. Bierman in 1948, sharing 54 years marriage. Together, they traveled throughout Europe, eventually building a home in a little fishing village in Estapona, Spain, which they enjoyed for many years. Anita and her family spent countless summers at the Isle of Shoals, savoring nature and building lifelong friendships. Star Island called out to Anita as her spirit’s home. Throughout the years, Anita accompanied her husband to many events in the fashion industry, where she met and befriended many celebrities.

A charming and gracious woman, Anita was known for her zany sense of humor. If she was your friend, she might greet you with, "Hello, Mrs. Pussycat" or perhaps, “You're a good woman" with a pause and a coy, "most of the time". Anita will be best remembered as a most beloved wife, mother, friend, and, above all, a good woman.

With her patient and generous heart, Anita was a teacher of children with learning disabilities for several years. In her spare time, Anita loved to paint in oils and play her piano. A tender and warm soul, Anita adored all animals, especially cats. In her later years, she volunteered as a docent the Baltimore Museum of Art and the University of New Hampshire.

Anita was a beloved mother of Theodore S. Bierman of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Diane Carson of Durham, New Hampshire. She is also survived by her dear friends, Cindy Farrell of Lee, New Hampshire, and Catherine Mazur of Epping, New Hampshire, who she cherished as part of her adopted family.

ARRANGEMENTS: The family plans a private Celebration of Life in the Spring. Assisting the family with arrangements is the Cremation Society of NH, Hampton.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Langdon Place of Exeter for giving Anita five wonderful years, and to thank the staff for their incredible love and support in her last few days.
