Anita Jean (Youngblood) Cassidy, 81, passed away Sunday April 3, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born on February 21, 1941 in Altus, Oklahoma, the daughter of William Ethridge ‘Epp’ Youngblood and Lucille (McLeod) Youngblood.
She became the proud military wife of Robert J Cassidy on April 26, 1961 in Altus, Oklahoma. Bob’s Air Force career would take them to several bases to include: Massachusetts, Oklahoma, Texas, Turkey, and Italy where she raised their four children and made many lifelong friends. She loved to tell anyone who would listen about their worldwide adventures.
While Anita may have lived in New Hampshire for close to 36 years, her heart was always in the heartland. Anita was a proud “Okie” and made it a habit to visit Oklahoma almost every year since she left. If it wasn’t her stories about growing up in Oklahoma that filled your heart, it was the home cooking that filled your belly. Anita would not have it any other way. She loved to invite all into her home, as long as it was clean and show ready. Whether it was the holidays or barbecue, nothing meant more to her than having her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to her home. She would prepare all the fixin’s and leave a nice mess for Bob to clean. While we know Anita is at peace, her smile, recipes and love for one another live within all whom she touched.
She was predeceased by her son Robert J Cassidy II, who died in 2020, as well as her brother John "Buddy" Youngblood and her sister Kathy Belcher.
Survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Robert Cassidy of Nashua, NH, her children Richard Cassidy of Lake Eufaula, Oklahoma, Dawna and her husband David Bartling of Bixby, Oklahoma, Lisa and her husband Allen Durant of Milford, New Hampshire, daughter-in-law Amy Cassidy of Neshanic Station, New Jersey, 9 grandchildren (Amanda, Courtney, Trey, Branden, Tristen, Cassidy, Alex, Owen, Juliet) & 10 great grandchildren.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
