Anita Routhier, 87, of Nashua, NH, passed away on January 2, 2024, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH.
She was a lifelong resident of Nashua, born to parents Ulric and Lena in 1936. As a 1955 graduate of Saint Louis de Gonzague High School, Anita was captain of the cheerleading team, secretary of the Spanish club and artist for the senior class yearbook. She later went on to work as an office worker for Indian Head Millwork in the late 1950s, as a cashier for Stop & Shop grocery store in the 1960s, as a cafeteria manager at Spring Street Junior High School / Pennichuck Middle School in the 1970s, 80s, and 90s, and as a paraprofessional at Pennichuck Middle School in the early 2000s. Anita was a longtime parishioner of Holy Infant Jesus Church and active in its social life committee. She also attended services at Saint Louis de Gonzague Church for many years.
Since a young age, Anita acquired the nickname “Bunny” from some of her friends and family. People who enriched her life included friends from her childhood and teenage years, friends from church, neighbors, travel companions, coworkers, students from when she worked at Spring Street Junior High School and Pennichuck Middle School, and many others. She was very devoted to her family and loved spending time with them as well as her many friends. She loved to visit Hampton Beach, NH and York Beach, ME for many years of her life. Other hobbies and interests included a love for drawing, coloring, tole painting, cooking, baking, reading, camping and traveling throughout the United States and abroad.
Anita is survived by her husband Richard who was married to her for over 62 years, son David and his wife Pamela, sons Donald and Michael, sister-in-law Juliette and many others including grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother Louis.
Funeral and committal services will be postponed until Spring of 2024.
