Ann Brook (Holzinger) Pinkham, 80, of Manchester, New Hampshire died peacefully at her home on January 14, 2024, with her loving family by her side.
She was born on May 14, 1943, in Cranston, Rhode Island, daughter of Joseph Holzinger and Elinor (Thomas) Holzinger. Ann and her husband, Richard Pinkham were married on July 14, 1973, and recently celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary. Ann was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved both beyond measure.
She graduated from Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing in 1964 and practiced nursing until her retirement in 2003. She was a nurse at Mass General Hospital for a year, lived on Beacon Hill, and then drove to California with her best friend (Margie) to practice nursing there. In 1966, she came back to Mass General to continue nursing. After having her children, she became a school nurse in the Wilmington Public School system in Wilmington, MA until her retirement. She was known as a most caring and compassionate family member, teacher, and friend.
Ann enjoyed spending time with her family in any way she could, including camping, boating, vacationing, and cruising. She absolutely loved to be on the water, whether it be the ocean or inland lakes. Before their move to Florida, for many years the family lived on Country Pond in Newton, New Hampshire.
She and Richard took advantage of early retirement by traveling the country in an RV, finding many adventures along the way. After traveling for a few years, they settled in Florida for 13 years, living first in Beverly Hills on the west coast of Florida where she enjoyed volunteering at the Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park, and then in Daytona Beach shores on the Florida’s east coast. But Ann missed being close to her children and family, so she and Rich moved back to New Hampshire in 2016.
Ann was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Elinor Holzinger. She is survived by her husband, Richard; her daughter, Lori Pinkham; her son, Michael Pinkham; Michael’s wife Asja Pinkham; and her grandchildren, Amelia, and Aden. She also leaves behind her brother, Steve Holzinger, his wife, Margie, and nephews John and David Holzinger.
No formal services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family is encouraging friends and relatives to honor Ann’s memory through donations to a charity of their choice. Please consider hanging a hummingbird feeder in her memory as hummingbirds were her favorite.
