Anne Marie Morin

Anne Marie Theresa Monaghan Gribben Morin of Albany, New Hampshire has passed with blessed peace on February 19, 2025 at the age of 82.

Anne first graced this earth on November 11, 1942. She was born in Greenock, Scotland and of Irish heritage to her parents, Charles Andrew Gribben of Greenock, Scotland and his wife Helen (alt. Ellen, nee Gill) of Donegal, Ireland. The young Gribben family lived for a time in Donegal, Ireland before settling in Greenock, Scotland. Anne was the eldest child of twelve and there was much to do.

Possessing a lively sense of adventure, Anne traveled to The States in the early 1960’s and lived for a time with her favorite Auntie Mary Duffy (nee Gill) in Waltham, Massachusetts. There Anne met a large batch of American Duffy cousins (Auntie Mary had nine children, God bless her) to share her life with (or boss around, depending on whom you might ask). Anne made many genuine, life-long friends in New England and it was in Watertown, Massachusetts that she met one of her life’s greatest blessings - her husband, Brent W. Morin, from Cambridge, Massachusetts. They were married in 1967.

Anne and Brent and their three daughters - Cheryl, Heather and Kerry - moved to South Berwick, Maine in 1976. Brent’s grandparents had a farm there. Brent purchased a piece of their farm property and the Morin family was home. Scotland, her family, her friends there, were always in Anne’s heart. Her daughters were especially blessed to have a lively, jolly group of beloved Aunties and Uncles, their Granny and Gran’ dad to sing songs with overseas.

Anne was a natural hostess and many friends and lots of family enjoyed years of joyous celebrations and blessed Holidays at her home. Anne had a smile that would light up a room and she had a way of making everyone feel special and good. Laughter and engaging others to enjoy themselves were two special gifts of Anne’s.

Anne was active in her community and her Church; she was a devout Catholic and a highly spiritual lady. Through her years in South Berwick, Maine, she worked within the Wentworth-Douglas Hospital’s offices in Dover, New Hampshire and she made new friends there, as well. Anne cherished her friends and family and the life she and Brent built together.

Near and around the Millennial turn Two-Thousand, Anne and Brent found themselves a wee bit older and with three kids out-of-the-house, what else were two Ski Bunnies to do? They hopped over to Albany, New Hampshire for good and tucked in to ski! Anne and Brent made a new home for themselves in the White Mountains and they could even be found impersonating Elves on Santa’s Polar Express train a Season or two (maybe five?).

Anne was an active and energetic sort – canoeing, skiing (she skied into her 70’s!), gardening (the gardens really did look nice), cooking (she was really a great cook; not so much the baking though), helping Brent with Habitat for Humanity projects, working at her local Hannaford in North Conway, making so many more friends there that she would deeply care about. Anne was always ready to jump in and help a friend. If you weren’t already her friend, you would be soon (she could be quite chatty). She had a knack for knowing if someone could use a lift-up.

Anne has gifted those she leaves behind with a network of more loving friends and family members than we can count, God bless and thank you all.

The family especially thanks the caregivers at Mineral Springs Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing in North Conway, New Hampshire for their unwavering kindness; helping and supporting Anne through her last days and hospice care.

Anne is pre-deceased by her Parents, Charles Andrew and Helen (nee Gill) Gribben, her Brothers Joseph, Liam, baby Andrew, and her Sister, Annmarie

Anne’s immediate family amongst the Mourning are her:

Husband, Brent W. Morin

Daughters, Cheryl Morin, Heather Morin, Kerry Fernandes (nee Morin) and her favorite Son-in-law, Jamie Fernandes
