Antke Sawtelle

Antke Sawtelle Known to her friends as Ann. Ann has passed on at the age of 75 to be with our Lord in Heaven after a long battle with lung cancer at her home in Newmarket, NH on December 4, 2008. She was born to Wilke Dik and Anna S.H. Sackhoff on April 1, 1933 in Wedde, Holland went to school there and lived in Amsterdam, Holland until she got married . She has lived in Germany, France and then settled in Portsmouth, NH and lived in this vicinity since 1960. She retired from Erie Scientific after 10 years of service. She enjoyed doing crafts and crocheting. She is preceded in death by her mother Anna S.H de Vries (Sackhoff), her stepfather Brand F. de Vries- Portsmouth, NH and her sister Geertruida "Trudy" Chester- Toronto, Canada She is survived by her two sons, Tony and spouse Nancy Rypma- Crothersville, IN, Wayne Vallimont- Newmarket, NH and her brother Brand "Dutch" and spouse Maggie de Vries- Amelia Island, FL. Her two grandsons, Nathaniel Rypma and Daniel Rypma- Crothersville, IN, her two nieces Alice Ann Chester-Bradford, Ontario and Joan Chester-London, Ontario. Two aunts, Nel Meyers and Hanna Geense in Holland and cousins in Canada and in Holland. Memorial service will be held at the Episcopal Church of Jesus Christ 500 Banfield Road, Portsmouth, on Friday, December 12, 2008 at 6:00 PM.
