Arthur H. Gilman

Arthur H. Gilman, 76, of Manchester died March 29, 2003 at Elliot Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Gilman was born on September 3, 1926 in Manchester and had been a lifelong resident. He was the son of the late John H. and Yvonne Alice (Doucet) Gilman. Arthur was a U S Army Veteran and served in the Korean War where he received a purple heart and was also a World War II veteran. He had worked as a shoe maker for many years at J. F. McElwain in Manchester. Family members include; two brothers, William J. Gilman of Manchester and Wilfred J. Gilman of Richland, WA; two sisters, Evelyn Deneau and Mae Haskins both of Manchester; and several nieces and nephews. Burial will take place in the spring at the New Hampshire State Veteran Cemetery in Boscawen.
