Arthur D. ''Dan'' Gunion, 55, of 2 Timberwood Drive in Goffstown died suddenly on January 23, 2002 at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester. Mr. Gunion was born on April 7, 1946 in Longansport, Indiana the son of Arthur D. Gunion and the late Mary (Vickery) Gunion. After high school Dan joined the US Army where he proudly served for over 20 years. He retired as a Sergeant First Class in 1985 and returned home to Indiana. He worked in customer service for Sears Automotive for 15 years. He relocated to New Hampshire in 1996 to be close to family and continued his career with Sears until his death. Family members include; his wife of 21 years, Ingeborg (Kramer) Gunion; one son, David Gunion of Colorado; four daughters, Cindy Gunion of Colorado, Suzie Chote of Ohio, Nancy Gunion of Colorado and Danielle Upton of New Hampshire; two stepsons, Gerhard Pieberl and Peter Kramer of Germany; two stepdaughters, Jutta Pratte and Ursula Pieberl of New Hampshire; his father, Arthur D. Gunion of Indiana; twelve grandchildren; one brother, Thomas Gunion of Indiana; one niece; two nephews; and many loving relatives in Germany. He was predeceased by a son, Doug Gunion in 1992. A Memorial Reception will be held on Monday, January 27th from 2:00 until 3:30 PM with a Memorial Service at 3:30 at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover Street in Manchester. Reverend Richard Gray of St. Paul's Church in Manchester will be officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at the Boscawen State Veterans Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Boscawen State Veterans Cemetery, 4 Pembroke Road, Concord, NH 03301.
