Audrey Judith (Moriarty) Engel, aged 65, succumbed to cancer at her home in New Boston on August 2
She was born at Massachusetts Memorial Hospital in Boston to Bernadette Perrot Moriarty Murphy and Leslie Owens Moriarty.
Audrey grew up in Arlington, MA, where she graduated from Matignon High School. She then received her R.N. degree from Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She spent the bulk of her nursing career at Catholic Medical Center (formerly Sacred Heart Hospital), where she made many lifelong friends. After “retiring†from CMC, she re-joined a nursing school classmate for the second stage of her career at Granite State Independent Living, where she recently re-retired to devote more time to family, friends, and, deservedly, herself. She was a talented artist and avid bird watcher, and enjoyed traveling or spending an evening with friends.
In Her Life: She is survived by her husband Doug, daughter Jennifer Gallagher, along with her husband Andrew and daughter Katherine, son Adam Engel, along with his wife Gena and soon-to-be first child, as well as numerous wonderful friends.
Memorial Services will be held August 9 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 34 Amherst St. in Milford, followed by a catered reception at the church.
The family requests that any memorial donations be sent to Souhegan Home and Hospice Care, 24 North River Road, Milford, NH 03055 (www.souheganhhc.org).
