Barbara D. Fellbaum

BARBARA D. (POEHLMAN) FELLBAUM
Barbara D. (Poehlman) Fellbaum, 82, formerly of Goffstown, NH, died quietly at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born on September 20, 1929 in Manchester, NH; she was the daughter of the late Albert & Alice (Duffy) Poehlman.
Barbara was a graduate of Manchester Central High School in 1947. Employment began early at the age of 14 working in a tailor shop, later working clerical duties at Danvers Shoe, several Manchester area attorney offices as well as at the Manchester Gas Company. Married to Ralph R. Fellbaum Jr. in June of 1958, Barbara left the work force to raise a family. Returning to work in later years, initially as a teller at Bank East in Bedford then transferring to the Bank East trust department and finally to First Albany securities brokerage where she remained until her retirement.
Barbara's interests and talents were varied and numerous. She was an incredible seamstress and craft talent entering many of her stained class art pieces and hand crafted bears in local craft competitions and shows. She was an avid scrapbooker and family historian, spending years accumulating genealogy data on her family's lineage which culminated in a mammoth presentation to her family only this past Christmas. An avid reader and writer from her youth, she was published in several categories of literature but particularly loved poetry. In later years, her fancy turned to the process of "showing" cats. She spent many weekends with her niece Alisa and sister Doris, traveling to both local and national shows "showing" her beloved felines, winning a multitude of awards in the process.
A fun loving and happy lady, this extraordinary woman overcame many difficult hurdles in her life and left and indelible impression on all whom she touched. She will be remembered for her tenacity for life and amazing courage in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.
Barbara was the youngest of four children. She is survived by her beloved sister, Irene Puccio and predeceased by her sisters, Dorothy Bobinski and Constance Opet. Barbara is also survived by her three eldest sons and their spouses; Ralph & Debra (Douglas) Fellbaum, Randy & Rosanne Fellbaum, Jay and Barbara (Bartlett) Fellbaum; her daughter, Jill (Fellbaum) Marchini, her youngest son, Jeffrey Fellbaum as well as by nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
