Barbara Gerade

Barbara Gerade, 93, of Penacook passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, January 13, 2018 following a brief period of declining health.

Barbara was born in Melrose, MA on May 1, 1924 to Minott and Ruth (Fillmore) Kendall and was a graduate of Melrose High, Class of 1942. Shortly after high school, Barbara married Robert G. Gerade Jr. and they started a family. She spent the next 74 years lovingly tending to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Though she had many interests from knitting to reading romance novels, baking, doing jigsaw puzzles, and playing golf, nothing was more important to Barbara than family and she lived her life in complete devotion to those she loved.

Barbara is survived by her children, Robert Graham Gerade and wife Kathie of North Port, FL, Chris Julian and husband Chuck of Penacook, NH, Carl Gerade and wife Beverly of North Port, FL and West Newfield, ME, Linda Gerade and significant other Ron Hrycuna of Epsom, NH, and daughter-in-law Norrice Gerade and Husband Donald Mitchell of Webster, NH and North Port, FL; brother-in-law Seldon Gerade and wife Virginia of Reading, MA; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased in May of 2016 by her loving husband of 72 years, Robert G. Gerade Jr.; her son, Kendall Gerade; and her great-granddaughter Marion Joan Lacasse.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service being held in the chapel of the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway in Boscawen on Thursday, January 18th at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Barbara's favorite charity, the Shriners Hospitals for Children at 2900 N.
