Barbara Jean Roberson

Barbara Jean Roberson, 44, of Derry, died June 7, 2005 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua after fighting cancer for 15 months. She was born in Norfolk, VA on January 4, 1961, the youngest daughter of the late Alvin and Mary Francis Peterson. She was raised on Nantucket, MA and graduated from S.M.U. (now UMass Dartmouth) with honors in 1982 where she earned her masters degree in math and a minor in computer science. Barbara was nominated for the Who’s who list at S.M.U. She had been employed at Bentley Buick in Derry since December 1986 until she was unable to work due to her illness in March 2004. She loved her children, family, sports, and especially her friends. She was a well respected volunteer and fund raiser in the Derry area. She was a kind person and well liked by people from many walks of life. Barbara will always be missed and remembered in the hearts of her family and friends. In Her Life: Family members include her husband, Sean Roberson; a daughter, Nicole Marie Vinci and two sons, Tyler Thomas Vinci and Brandon Joseph-Steel Vinci all of Derry; a sister, Linda A. Peterson of Nantucket, MA, her nieces and nephew, Vanessa M. Orozco, Veronica L. Orozco, Victoria F. Orozco and Vaughn N. Peterson all of Nantucket, MA . A memorial gathering will take place at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover Street on Saturday June 18 from 10 to 11 AM. A celebration of her life will follow at 11:00 AM.
