Barbara Hardy Snow, age 77, died Saturday 29 November 2003 at Hospice House in Concord, NH. She was the wife of Joseph Cagle Snow of Barnstable, Massachusetts for 55 years. Born in Medford, Massachusetts 9 September 1926, the daughter of the late Raymond N. and Viola P. Hardy. She was a graduate of Lexington High School, Lexington, MA in 1944 and of Peter Bent Brigham Hospital School of Nursing in 1947. During World War II she was a member of the Cadet Nurses Corps. Barbara and Joseph Snow resided in Abilene, Texas for many years, raising their family there. They moved to Barnstable in 1978 where she was a member of St. David's Episcopal Church in South Yarmouth. She enjoyed volunteering at the Church Thrift Shop of St. David's. She was an accomplished weaver, gourmet cook, and enjoyed needlepoint and knitting. She is survived by her husband, Joseph, five children and eleven grandchildren. The surviving children are Wynelle Snow, MD, of Ketchikan, Alaska; Joseph Snow, MD, of Concord, NH; Richard Snow, JD of Columbus, GA; James Snow, PhD, living in Belgium; and Patricia Snow, of Centerville, MA. She is also survived by her brother Robert S. Hardy of Ormond Beach, FL, and a sister Jane G. Moody of Acton, MA. Memorial services will be Friday 5 December at St. David's Episcopal Church, S. Main Street, South Yarmouth, MA at 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Hospice of Cape Cod (270 Communication Way, Hyannis, MA 02601) or Hospice House of Concord, NH, Regional Visiting Nurse Association (250 Pleasant Street, Concord, NH 03301).
