BEATRICE E. MCDUFFEE VANNI, 94, DEDICATED REGISTERED NURSE. BEATRICE E. VANNI, 94, DIED AUGUST 10, 2004 AT MONADNOCK COMMUNITY HOSPITAL IN PETERBOROUGH. BORN FEBRUARY 25, 1910 IN NASHUA N.H. THE DAUGHTER OF THE LATE LESTER E. MCDUFFEE AND NELLIE ROGERS MC DUFFEE. SHE ATTENDED SCHOOLS IN N.H, MASS, AND VT, ENTERED NURSES TRAINING AND GRADUATED FROM THE SCHOOL OF NURSING AT MEMORIAL HOSPITAL INNASHUA AND BECAME A REGISTERED NURSE. SHE DID PRIVATE DUTY FOR 2 YEARS IN NASHUA AND MILFORD, MASS PRIOR TO MOVING TO PETERBOROUGH WHERE SHE WAS EMPLOYED AT MONADNOCK COMMUNITY HOSPITAL FOR THE NEXT FORTY-TWO YEARS. WHILE THERE SHE WORKED IN MANY CAPACITIES, O.R SUPERVISOR , E.R. , ICU , DELIVERY AND SUPERVISOR ON THE NIGHT SHIFT. SHE WORKED PARTTIME AT BIRCH ACRES. IN 1978 SHE WENT TO WORK AT SCOTT FARRAR AND RETIRED SEVEN YEARS LATER. SHE WAS A DEDICATED CARING, COMPASSIONATE AND PROFESSIONAL NURSE WHO SHARED HER KNOWLEDGE AND WAS ADMIRED BY ALL WHO WORKED WITH HER. SHE WAS A MEMBER OF ST. PETERS GUILD AND THE JAFFREY WOMANS CLUB. SHE ALSO SERVED AS A CUB SCOUT DEN MOTHER. SHE DID FIND TIME AND ENJOYED KNITTING, CROCHETING AND CREWEL WORK.. HER INTEREST NEXT TO NURSING AND FAMILY WAS CANDLE PIN BOWLING; SHE PARTICIPATED IN SEVERAL LEAGUES. SHE HAD HER 94 BIRTHDAY PARTY AT BOWLING ACRES WITH HER FRIENDS. SHE WAS MARRIED TO JOCONDO VANNI , THEY HAD TWO SONS THOMAS AND PETER. JOCONDO DIED IN 1954, THOMAS DIED IN 1964 IN AN AUTO ACCIDENT AS DID PETER IN 1997, BOTH ACCIDENTS OCCURING ON RTE.101. SHE IS SURVIVED BY TWO GRANDDAUGHTERS , A GRANDSON AND TWO HALF BROTHERS, MANY NIECES, NEPHEWS AND MANY FRIENDS WHO WILL MISS HER. A MASS CELEBRATING HER LIFE WILL B E HELD AT ST. PETERS CHURCH , PETERBOROUGH, ON SATURDAY AUGUST 14, 2004 AT 10:00. GRAVESIDE SERVICES TO FOLLOW AT ST. PETERS CEMETERY. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS MAYBE MADE TOST.
