Benita Bragan

Benita S. (Lussier) Bragan, 84, of Hampstead, NH (formerly of Lowell, MA and Mesa Arizona) died peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at home in Hampstead NH.

Born in Lowell, on October 16, 1936, Benita (Bonnie to her friends) was the daughter of Lucien F. Lussier and Lena M. (Beauchesne) Lussier both of Lowell. She was educated in the Lowell School system and went on to work within the Massachusetts healthcare system first at the former Beacon Crest Nursing Home and then for Tewksbury State Hospital where she retired some 22 years ago. She enjoyed taking trips to the New Hampshire seacoast to indulge in fresh seafood and she also enjoyed being with her friends and family, especially being Mémère to her grandchildren and "Mega-Mem" to her greatgrandchildren.

She is pre-deceased by both of her parents, her sister Dolores Dion of Lowell, MA; her brother Lucien Lussier of Andover, MA; her youngest son Thomas E. Bragan of Nashua, and many friends especially Ann McAndrews and Marlene Turner. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Grubbs) LaRochelle and her husband Paul both of Hampstead, New Hampshire (both helped her tremendously in the last years of her life and she especially loved Paul for all he did for her); her son Timothy P. Bragan and his significant other Hajnalka Hartl both of Nashua, NH; her grandchildren Meghan E. Grubbs of Salem, NH; Melissa Devine and her husband Patrick of Sandown, NH; Brian Bragan and his significant other Ashlee Lynn Ballard of Nashua, NH; and Francesca Bragan of Raleigh North Carolina. She leaves behind three beautiful greatgrandchildren Samuel and Alison of Sandown,NH and MacKenzie of Nashua, NH. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her very close family friend Gayle Rua of Lowell, MA.

Arrangements are handled by the Cremation Society of New Hampshire in Manchester. It was the decedent's wish that there be no calling hours or service prior to or after her cremation. Her ashes will be spread at a later date by her family.
