Bernard Krell Ackerman, 78, of Allegan, Michigan was born on June 29, 1942 and passed on March 12, 2021 with his family by his side in Nashua, NH. He was the son of Mildred Krell Ackerman and Bernard Ackerman. Bernie, as he was called, graduated from Allegan High School and went on to attend Western Michigan State for two years. He then enrolled in the Air Force for four years, where he found his love for flying.
He continued his education, as he was a lifelong learner, at UNH and graduated in 1972 with a Master's in Science. He was a veteran, adventure seeker, soccer enthusiast, animal lover especially all his dogs, husband, father, and grandfather. He was an extremely strong, stubborn, caring, funny and resilient man that struggled through many of his last years and is finally at rest now.
His last few days of life he was surrounded by his family and his faithful companion, Mac. He is survived by his wife Cathie (Mosher) Ackerman of 45 years, his oldest son Nick Ackerman and his wife Jessica, daughter Jamie McOsker and her husband Timothy, and youngest son Chris Ackerman, as well as his six grandchildren, Kelsey, Aaron, Colin, Everett, Keegan and Savannah.
There will be a private family gathering to celebrate and honor his life on Wednesday, March 17th, 2021. Assisting the family with arrangements is the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, Manchester.
