Betty Alice (Griffin) Kerouac – HUDSON Age 78, a longtime resident of the Nashua area, died Sunday May 21st, at Fairview Nursing Home in Hudson, NH. Betty was born in Arlington, MA. On November 30, 1927, the daughter of the late Malcolm B. Sr. and Alice F. (McManus) Griffin. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Kerouac who died on December 30, 1988. Mrs. Kerouac was a communicant of the former St. Casmir's Church in Nashua. Betty was a dedicated nurse for all of her adult life. She enjoyed her many pets, especially her cats and dogs, and she liked to travel. Betty was an avid bingo player with a great sense of humor. She was a member of the Hudson Citizens' Fire and Police Academies and the Hudson Seniors. More recently, she was a member of Fairview Nursing Home's Resident Council. Betty was an especially giving person to her many friends and family members, and she will be missed dearly by everyone she knew. Betty is survived by her son Jeffrey M. Kerouac of Chichester, NH; her grandchildren, Kristen Kerouac of North Chelmsford, MA, and Jerod Kerouac of Plymouth, NH. Brother Malcolm Griffin of North Fork, CA. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her. There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at Westview Cemetery in Hudson, NH at a later date. In-lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made in Betty’s name to the Humane Society of Greater Nashua 24 Hills Ferry Road Nashua, NH 03064-8109.
