Betty Lou Metts, age 64, passed away peacefully at home with her husband James by her side on June 2, 2021, ending her lengthy battle with renal failure. She was born November 3,1956 in Manchester, NH. Her parents, James & Beatrice White had preceded her in death. She was married to James Metts, in the Spring of 2006.
Betty was always happiest when she was giving. She took a lead role in several coat drives for the homeless and volunteered to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network. She loved Christmas and she would create her own toy drive for families with children in her neighborhood.
She loved to be around family & friends. She enjoyed staying at the beach during off seasons and had an appetite for fresh steamed clams. Betty enjoyed camping without the modern-day conveniences. Lucky for James, she was gifted with the most amazing survival skills. She loved going to the movies and became an avid movie collector. She was always lending with little returns. James was forever starting her collection over and over again, without a complaint.
Betty had a special place in her heart for those with developmental and physical disabilities. She spent much of her time enlightening the lives of those she knew. She enjoyed volunteering on many of their beach vacations & camping trips. She attempted to teach them how to use a fishing pole, only to hook her own shorts and the only way to eat toasted marshmallows was to feed your face. Her comical ways added so much joy to their lives, while adding so much value to hers.
Betty is survived by her Husband James Metts, her son Justin Porter, her nephew Jordon Metts & her loving companion Angel; Sisters, Pauline Guibeault (Leo), Beatrice White Pinnon (Carol), Barbara Blanchette (Don), Bestie Sue Rodriguez (Louis) and Donna Magoon (Mark); Brothers, James White (Sandy), Bruce White (Casey) and Jay White Cody (Jeff). She also had a host of nieces, nephews & cousins that she loved deeply, as well as longtime friends from around the States.
Betty lived an extraordinary life & was the first to say, "I'd do all over it again."
Betty's Family will gather for a Celebration Of Life at a later date - We Will Love Her Always
