Beverly A. Devon, 49, of Portsmouth died peacefully at her home on April 16, 2002 after a lengthy illness. Ms. Devon was born on October 28, 1952 in Lynn, MA the daughter of Paul Seymour and the late Thelma (Estes) Seymour. She resided in Portsmouth for most of her life and graduated from Lynn English High School. She was in the Class of 1970 at Marion Court Secretary School and graduated from McIntosh College where she received her Associates Degree majoring in paralegal. For 10 years Beverly worked as a secretary for the State of New Hampshire Probation/Parole Dept. until she was forced to retire due to cancer. She was a board member for SOHO, Save of Homes Organization, in Portsmouth. She was on the board of the American Little League and enjoyed coaching and managing the team as well. She is survived by her father, Paul Seymour of Portsmouth; two sons, Michael Devon of Dover and Christopher Devon of Portsmouth; a sister, Linda Whitten of Lynn, MA; a niece, Rebecca Whitten of Florida; and a nephew, Paul Whitten of Lynn, MA. A gathering of friends and family will take place at the Community Center of Osprey Landing in Portsmouth on Sunday, April 21st at 3:00 PM.
