Beverly J. (Wood) Hermans, 77, of Hudson, NH, lost her battle with cancer and passed away to be with her Heavenly Father on May 4, 2021 at 12:45 AM. She was able to be at home with her family surrounding and caring for her until the very end, as she wanted, and with her loving husband of 57 years at her side.
Beverly was born on October 3, 1943, to the late Kenton and Elizabeth (Groh) Wood in Newark, NJ. She loved the lakeside community of Denville, NJ where she grew up and spent many happy hours swimming with family and friends. Her enjoyment of the water continued throughout her life; her favorite place to visit was the ocean. Beverly was an avid reader and was passionate about learning, teaching and writing.
At the age of 16, Beverly met William S. "Stew" Hermans and four years later they were married on June 22, 1963. Together they raised their four children and overcame many challenges, which prepared them to help others, too numerous to list individually. They often welcomed people into their home and provided a loving family atmosphere to those who were hurting. In addition, they were active in their church, Community Christian Fellowship (CCF) of Lowell, MA, serving in many capacities, but most notably as marriage counselors and mentors. As they have served and loved, they, and many others, have been richly blessed.
Beverly is survived by her four children: Sandra Hodges and husband Michael of CO, Christine Parsons and her husband James, Sr. of NC, Rebekah Cassidy and her husband Timothy of NH, and her son, Kenton Hermans of NH. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren, as well as her sister, Dolores Darsch and husband Donald of FL, and eight nieces and nephews.
Beverly touched so many lives with her kindness and compassion. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her and were blessed to have her in their lives.
A private Burial Service will be held at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH for family members and a few close friends.
Visitation is available prior to a private Memorial Service (for date and time see details in the upper right "Funeral" section).
