She is survived by her parents, Jack and Teresa Clinton, husband Edward Abbott, daughter Amber Cosseboom, her husband Jeff Cosseboom and their son Colton Cosseboom, daughter Corrine Abbott, son Shea Abbott, sister Charlene Couchon and late Kevin Clinton, Patricia Catanzano and Ronald Clinton. She is also survived by loving nieces, nephews and longtime friends.
Brenda was born in Winthrop, MA on August 3, 1970. She graduated from Cosmetology school in 1990.
Family was always so important to Brenda. She became a young mother at the age of 18 and since that day she always put her children and husband first, guiding the way through life she was their rock. She cherished her role as meme. Her and her grandson Colton had an unbreakable bond. Gardening, library trips, popcorn with skittles on top watching movies in bed were just a few of their favorite things. Another pride and joy of Brenda’s was her dog, Bella. She provided Brenda with endless love, snuggles and laughs and brought people together when she plays in the living room.
She was the youngest of her siblings and they always looked out for her. Growing up she loved the beach, her mother would take her to the beach in Winthrop, MA. She loved to play Barbie dolls and the movie The Wizard of Oz. Throughout her life, she also enjoyed collecting lighthouse decorations in respect to her brother Ronnie as well as beanie babies and misfit toys from her favorite Christmas Special Rudolph and The Island of Misfit Toys.
She later moved to Windham, NH where she would meet lifelong friends and her soon-to-be husband. Then Moved to Allenstown, NH to raise their daughter Amber. She was the coach for her early cheerleading years and supported her through her further years every step of the way. Even putting her hair dressing skills to work by curling her pony tail with over 100 perm rods at 3 am for cheer competitions. Many trips to their camp in Ossipee, NH which included water skiing, campfires, and basking in the sun on the beach with her sister Charlene.
A few years later she then moved the Winthrop, ME. She gave her daughter, Corrine, and son, Shea the best childhood she could offer. Living a mile from the lake made for accessible beach days throughout their childhood summers filling them with memories of lunches from under the gazebo, reading books on the grass, and watching Corrine and Shea bother the lifeguards. There would also be the arts and crafts and sports at the school recreational center that she would often bring not only her two young kids, but a lot of the time others as well from neighbors, friends, and cousins. She always gave so much to her community with hope and consideration. During the school year, she would be running her own cleaning business while performing individual haircuts and dyes on the side.
Once she was re-diagnosed with Breast Cancer she immediately knew she needed to be back closer to family and Dana Farber Hospital, so she moved to Epsom, NH. There she got to spend hours on hours with her parents, baking with her mother and long bike rides on the rail trail with her dad. She always loved to hear his stories. She and her daughter Corrine became closer than ever as these years passed going on walks and short trips together then at the end of the day getting into bed with a good TV show and Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. Fish food was her favorite. She was able to be a major part of her grandsons’ life, teaching him to appreciate the little things in life. Brenda was determined to get Corrine and Shea through school and she did just that. Her fight was admired by all, through all of the treatment she never let a day go by without a smile. She was a burst of energy who could light up a room.
