Brent J. Cote, age 65, passed away peacefully on Sunday April 28, 2024, surrounded by family. He was born on June 18, 1958 in Manchester, NH to Edouard Cote and Jaqueline (Audet) Cote as the oldest of three children. He graduated from Merrimack High School in 1976 and attended Norwich University, graduating in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
After graduation, he commissioned into the United States Air Force and dedicated 18 years of his life in service of his country. During his time in the military, he was stationed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio where he earned a Masters of Science in Systems Engineering. Next moving to Kirkland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas where he worked on Electric Warfare programs. Afterward he moved to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York where he welcomed his first 2 children, taught ROTC, and gained an MBA. His final move took the family to Bellevue, Nebraska where he welcomed his third child. While there, he worked at Detachment 513th in the Electric Combat Flight and earned his second Masters of Science in Computer Information Systems from Bellevue University. In his final assignment he supported STRATCOM at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, Nebraska. He honorably retired as a Major in the United States Air Force. After his time in the service, he moved to Nashua where he spent the rest of his life and worked for BAE as a systems engineer for 21 years.
He loved working with his hands and was an avid gardener and highly skilled woodworker. Skiing was a lifelong passion that he traveled the world enjoying. He also loved hand cycling, competing in several 100 mile races. Later in life he became a serial business owner and crypto enthusiast.
He is survived by his three children, Kelsey (Christopher), Aaron (Angela), and Emily (Ryan); six loving grandchildren, Carter, Emma, Zachary, Zoe, Liam, and Jacob; his parents; and siblings Lise (Carol) and Jim (Sandra).
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, May 2nd from 12:00-2:00pm at The Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover Street in Manchester. A brief remembrance will begin at 1:30pm. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend.Thursday, May 2, 2024
