Bruce E. "Coop" Cooper, 42, of Litchfield died with his wife and children by his side on March 23, 2003 at Community Hospice House in Merrimack following a three year battle with cancer. Bruce was born on April 30, 1960 in Hartford, Connecticut the son of David and Jane Ann (McKnight) Cooper. He graduated from Bacon Academy in Colchester, CT in 1978 and then joined the US Army. He served for 4 years with the 12th U.S.A.F.D. and was an expert marksman and received several overseas service ribbons. Bruce worked in retail management for many years and was most recently employed by Home Depot in Tewskbury, MA. He was also previously employed at Teradyne in Nashua. He was an avid New York Giants and Ramones fan. Bruce's family and friends meant the world to him and nothing was more important to him than spending time with his children. Family members include; his wife of 15 years, Pat "P.L." (Yurkevicius) Cooper; two sons, Michael Cooper and Jesse Cooper both of Litchfield; one daughter, Samantha Cooper of Litchfield; a step son , Christopher Cole of New Port Richey, Florida; his parents of Colchester, CT; his maternal grandmother, Evelyn McKnight of Unionville, CT; one brother, Paul Cooper of Colchester, CT; one sister, Debbie Cooper of Colchester, CT; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A Memorial Reception will be held on Wednesday, March 26th for 10:00 until 11:00 AM with a Memorial Service at 11:00 at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire Chapel, 243 Hanover Street in Manchester. An Educational Fund has be set up for the Cooper children and donations may be sent to 22 Circle Drive, Litchfield, NH 03052 to further the children's education.
