Bruce C. Webb, a man of faith, family and honor, 91, died Monday, April 26, 2021 at home with his wife and daughter. He was born in Peterborough, the son of J. Fred Webb and Ruth C. Webb.
He was the husband of Ann T. Webb. They were married on November 17, 1956 in Hyannis, Massachusetts.
He attended schools in Peterborough graduating in June of 1948 from Peterborough High School. After serving in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Alaska, he attended and graduated from University of New Hampshire in 1958 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He spent the majority of his adult life in the employment of U. S. Government as an industrial engineer. He designed a number of elements on the decks of ships while working at the Boston Naval Shipyard. He also owned Sears Catalog Store in Peterborough NH with his wife for 5 years. He retired from the Government while working at Sanders Associates in Nashua, New Hampshire where he negotiated contracts between the Defense Department and Sanders. He retired in 1995.
He was a longtime member of Trinity Evangelical Church in Peterborough, where he faithfully served for many years. He was an avid gardener, loved summers at Lake Nubanusit in Hancock, NH, enjoyed many hours building blocks, models, tree houses and canoes with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved listening to music especially when performed by his grandson Michael and daughter-in-law Beth. He both wrote and loved reading poetry written by his son Robert, grandson Luke and granddaughter Marybeth, as well as the musings of his son Steve. A number of his poems were published in the Peterborough Transcript over the years including one he wrote called Granddaughter Leanne's Echo. He was always ready to give a hearty wave hello or warm hug to family, friends and community members alike.
He was preceded by both of his parents Fred and Ruth, his brother Wayne, sister-in-law Dolores, nephew Scott and grandson Trevor.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Ann, daughter Sandra and husband Mark, son Robert and wife Irene, son Steve and wife Beth, grandchildren Kristin and husband Jacob, Leanne, Marybeth and husband Benjamin, Sarah and fiancé Peter, Joshua and wife Corey, Josiah, Luke, Michael and wife Kaylie, great-grandchildren SadieMae, Alvin, Cyrus, Zayne, Tripp, Arya, Atticus, Izabelle, Zoe, Ari and many nieces and nephews; especially his niece Carol and husband Mike who graciously gave of their time in his last year. He is also survived by his longtime friends Dick and Joyce.
Due to Covid there will be no formal services, a private graveside service will be at the convenience of the family.
