Bruce Warren Whitney

Bruce Warren Whitney, 64, of Wilton, peacefully passed away on December 27, 2020 with his beloved wife, Vicki Dumont-Whitney by his side.

Bruce was born on November 29, 1956 in Woodland, CA and was the son of the late Leonard and Hilda (Nugent) Whitney. After a family cross country move to New Hampshire he attended Pembroke Academy prior to enlisting in the U.S. Navy where, during his twenty-two-year career, he achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer and was awarded multiple Achievement and Service as well as Humanitarian medals and awards.

After retiring from the Navy, Bruce began his second career at the United States Postal Service beginning as a Mail Handler before moving to Maintenance Craft where he held multiple positions.

Bruce was passionate about photography, Siamese cats, video games, Christmas movies, and especially his family.

His family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and LNAs of St. Joseph ICU for the compassionate care given to Bruce.

In addition to his wife of twelve years, he is survived by his children, Nicholas Dumont and his significant other Danielle Knight, Christina Hogan and her husband Thomas, Jason Whitney and his wife Kim, Laura Bullek and her husband Rob, Adam Whitney and his significant other Danielle Aquino and Lauren, Angela, and Madalyn Dumont; eleven cherished grandchildren Sadie, Sabrina, Matthew, Ryan, Bryce, Evelyn, Jaryd, Owen, Kolyn, Isis, and Olivia who will love and miss their "Bumper" always; brother, William Whitney and his family and a brother-in-law Michael Cheever and his family. He was also predeceased by his sister, Susan Cheever.

ARRANGMENTS: A Gathering for Bruce will be held on Friday, January 8th at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester from 1pm – 2pm with a Memorial Service following immediately at 2pm.
