Burton Clement

Burton "Burt" Clement, 93, died on December 18, 2020 at Pleasant View Center in Concord NH. He was born on August 23, 1927 in Manchester NH, the son of Charles Clement Jr and Helen Clement.

He was the husband of Dorothy "Dottie" (Barnes) Clement. They were married on September 24, 1955 in North Hampton, NH.

During his teenage years, Burt, would spend the summers on his aunt's dairy farm in Milton NH. He graduated from Pinkerton Academy in Derry, NH. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked in his parents' clothing store, CH Clement, from his early working years, until the store closed in 1973. He also owned a laundromat that he ran while working at the clothing store.

When he retired, he had been working at Freudenburg-Nok, as a line worker, for several years. Burt enjoyed wood-working and had a shop in the basement of his Derry home where he created many different wood projects that he and Dottie (who did the finishing work) would sell at craft fairs. They belonged to the League of NH Craftsmen for a while. He also enjoyed playing the saxophone. During his early adult years, he had a jazz band where they would play concerts in down-town Derry.

He was pre-deceased by his wife, Dottie, in 1987.

He is survived by his daughters Nancy Clement and Linda Bell; his grandchildren Dianna Tullar, Noel Tullar and Bryant Tullar; his sister Marian Kimball, along with her children Charlie Kimball, Martha Estrup and Mark Kimball; Dottie's nieces and nephews: Mike Barnes, Ken Barnes, Tom Barnes, Dawn Walker, Gail Ela, Lisa Thorne and Bruce Parks.

Services will be held at a later date when it is permissible and safe to gather together.
