''Cal'' Clarence P. Tirrell, Sr. died April 8, 2002 surrounded by his loved ones. Born August 17, 1927 the son of Clarence and Sadie Tirrell of Gorham, Maine. He was raised and attended schools in Maine. In his early years he worked on farms and lumber camps in Maine. He serviced in the U.S. Navy during World War II and spent his tour in the Pacific. After the Navy he worked in many areas: trucking, shoe shop and plumbing. He became a building contractor in the early 80's building many area homes. He and his wife Eris owned and operated C&E Sandpit in Epsom. During his ''retirement'' he worked at Envirofab Fence in Northwood and the MTS Company in Chichester. Cal enjoyed gardening, creating and building things, and had a passion for cooking. He was known for his BBQ's and Sunday dinners. He will be remembered for his ''stories'', jokes and quick wit. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 30 years, Eris M. (Yeaton/Lombard), his daughters Linda Tirrell of Epsom, Deborah Bazemore of Concord, Sharon Wayman of Loudon, and Gina Canney of Farmington, his sons Clarence P. Tirrell, Jr. of Epsom, Stephen Lombard of Northwood, James Lombard of Wolfeboro, and Thomas Lombard of Graceville, Florida, his sisters Louis Reynolds of Buxton, Maine, Florence Rousseau of Westbrook, Maine, Ann Woodward of Sandford, Maine, his brother James Tirrell of Raymond, Maine, 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a large circle of friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 13 at 1:00 pm in Epsom at the New Rye Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Hospice Program of the Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association.
