Carl Frederick Anderson

Carl  Anderson Jr. of Exeter, New Hampshire, died January 28th 2023 after a long illness. Carl was the eldest son of Carl Anderson, and Evelyn Anderson. Carl was born August 23rd 1942, in Cambridge Massachusetts. His family moved near Nashua, New Hampshire. Carl graduated from Alvirne High School class of 1960. Carl met his wife Sharon, who was from Nashua, through their shared love of roller skating. They married in 1964 and had two sons Carl Anderson III and Dana Anderson. In 1970 Carl moved his family to Exeter, New Hampshire where he resided for the next 53 years, until his passing. 

Carl graduated from UNH Thompson School of Applied Sciences, with a degree in forestry. However, Carl spent his life serving his country. Carl spent 33 years (28 years in the civil service) at Pease Air Force base in the 157th Air Refueling Wing of the New Hampshire Air National Guard. He retired August 23rd, 2002 at the rank of SMSGT. Carl had a love of the outdoors his entire life. He enjoyed fishing, canoeing, skiing, boating, hunting, and camping. 

Carl was also an avid woodworker. He made his family many amazing pieces of furniture, as well as decorative items. Carl also gave back to his community. He served on the Exeter Conservation Committee, and volunteered with the Special Olympics, and American Cancer Societies(a two time survivor) Carl loved spending time with his family, especially his three grandsons. In addition Carl is survived by: his wife of 58 years Sharon, his son Carl III, his daughter in law Johanna, his son Dana, his son in law Tyler, his grandsons Carl IV and his fiance Cassandra, Joshua, and Benjamin, his brothers Ralph, John, and Paul, as well as many nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: A memorial service will be held at the Cremation Society of NH, 172 King Street in Boscawen at 1:00pm on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. Interment prayers and military honors will follow at 2:00pm at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway in Boscawen. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
