Carl R. Chamberlin, 64 of Winchester, passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 16, 2005 at home surrounded by his loving family. Carl was born on June 9, 1941 in West Swanzey, NH., the son of the late Mildred Leonard. He attended Keene High School and had a strong interest in auto mechanics. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army for several years. Carl received training in auto repair and later worked for Dunks Texaco in Keene. He owned and operated Carls Auto Repair for many years in West Swanzey. Carl was active in his community and was a member and past president of the Concord Eagles. He was also a member of the Concord Moose Lodge. Carl enjoyed woodworking, using computers, playing bingo and spending time with his friends and loving family. Carl leaves behind a wife of 31 years, Rita Tatro, two sons; Dennis Chamberlin and Carl Chamberlin both of Keene; 4 daughters, Sue Chamberlin of Manchester, Kathy Chamberlin of Keene, Kim Letourneau of Surry and Linda Powell of Belmont; two brothers, Forrest Hodgdon of Pennsylvania and Edwin Hodgdon of New Hampshire; four sisters, Charlotte Philips of England, Christine Montgomery and Roberta Petrin both of New Hampshire and Rebecca Chamberlin of New Jersey. Carl was the loving grandfather to 11 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering will be held on Monday November 28, 2005 from 6-8 pm in the Hanover Chapel of The Cremation Society of New Hampshire 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, New Hampshire. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Lung Association. The Cremation Society of New Hampshire is entrusted with directing Carls arrangements.
