Carlon Stafford Guyette (Guy), 91, of Swanzey NH, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on January 19, 2023.
He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Nancy A. Guyette, brother Bernard Guyette and sister Dorothy (Guyette) Foster.
Guy served proudly as a medic in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1955, during the Korean War.
Guy met the love of his life and they were married just after he was discharged. Together they raised four sons; Gregory, Garry, Douglas and Carlon. Guy leaves behind four grandchildren; Carlon, Christopher, Michael and Jonathan, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
Following his time in the Air Force, Guy attended the New Mode Barber School in Nashua, and began cutting hair and straight shaves at his shop “Guy’s Barber Shop” on Amherst St. in Nashua. Guy loved barbering and considered many of his customers close friends. He spoke of them often.
Guy lived to hunt and fish. He was at home in the woods and on the water. He shared his passion for the outdoors with his children and grandchildren through many memorable trips and adventures.
When he retired from barbering, Guy and Nancy returned to his roots and built a house on the family farm. He continued his life doing the things he enjoyed most, living with no regrets and he never left anything unsaid.
A memorial will be planned for this spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carlon Guyette’s name to the New Hampshire Veterans Home, 139 Winter St., Tilton, NH 03276.
