Carol Ann (Fletcher) Sims passed away peacefully on December 5, 2018 with both of her daughters by her side. Carol was born on October 4, 1937; the only child of W. Alfred Fletcher and A. Harriet (Franks) Fletcher. She was raised in Lexington MA and graduated from Lexington High School in 1955. Later in life, after successfully beating two bouts with cancer, she went back to school and graduated with her BS in Nursing from Middlesex Community College. She was an accomplished artist, animal lover and found inspiration in her many trips to the coast.
Carol is is survived by her daughters, Cindy Couture and her husband Mike, Wendy Durrett and her husband Edwin, and her four grandchildren; Jennifer (Couture) Phillips and her husband Nicolas, Bradley Couture and his girlfriend Jamie Rogers, Stefanie Couture and her fiancé Pat Berrigan, and Tony Sacco. After many years of failing health, she resided for a few years at Rose Haven Assisted Living in Merrimack with the kind support of the owners and staff. For the last three years she resided at Hanover Hill Health Care Facility, whose staff in the Lee Unit provided outstanding care and compassion.
Her family will be forever grateful for their support. A memorial service and gathering will be held at the Phanuef Funeral Home and Crematorium in Manchester, NH on Monday December 10th from 2 to 4pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation, who provided comfort and care during her last days.
