Carol Thibedeau

Carol Ann Thibedeau (née Isbister) went home to her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 17, 2025 after a short battle with colon cancer. She was born on July 14, 1940, in Boston, MA, to Edward and Muriel (Velmure) Isbister. She graduated from Lyman Hall High School in Wallingford, CT, in 1958. After spending her twenties on military bases in Guam and Panama, she settled in Gouldsboro, Maine, where she raised her three children and met the love of her life, Edward Thibedeau. She served as vice principal of Acadia Christian Academy in Gouldsboro and continued to pray for her former students until her passing.

After her own children grew up, Carol moved to Rochester, New Hampshire. She became an active member of Emmanuel Advent Christian Church, where she served as deaconess for many years. She was especially proud of her work on the bulletin board in the sanctuary, which she was able to decorate for the final time this past Easter. She served as office manager for Dr. James Bress in Rochester for almost two decades and blessed countless patients with her Christ-like demeanor.

Carol was a lifelong seamstress and made many prom gowns, wedding dresses, and costumes for herself, her family, and her friends. She is best known for her quilts, which won numerous prizes in the Rochester Fair. She contributed a substantial number of blanket donations to Project Linus, which distributes handmade blankets to children in need.

Carol will be remembered for her strong faith in God, her gentle spirit, and her kindness. She is predeceased by her siblings, Mosey, Eddie, and Andy, as well as her husband, Edward. She is survived by her three children, Daniel Gifford, Robin Jordan, and Michele Gaulin, as well as nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

ARRANGEMENTS: A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 26, at 2PM at Emmanuel Church, 24 Eastern Ave., in Rochester.
