Carolyn Kozyra

Carolyn F Kozyra, 82, of Bedford, NH, died peacefully October 1, 2018 at Community Hospice House in Merrimack , surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Winchester, NH, December 22, 1935, she was the daughter of Clarence and Marjorie Fosdick. She was educated in Winchester schools, and graduated from Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Hanover, NH as a Registered Nurse.
She worked in a number of diverse medical facilities including Boston Children's Hospital (her favorite), the McLean Home of Simsbury, CT, and the Manchester VA Hospital.
Carolyn was a voracious reader who read her way through libraries in NH, MA, CT, and OH. She also loved knitting and created an abundance of unique sweaters for her children and grandchildren. Upon retirement she spent long days working in her flower garden, always watched over by the family's two Golden Retrievers whom she loved.
She was predeceased by her selfless daughter Kathryn Steer of Round Rock, TX who loved all animals and rescued as many as she could.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Philip J Kozyra, daughter Karen Kozyra and James Taylor of Highlands Ranch, CO; sons Kurt Kozyra and wife Molly of Windham, NH; Kenneth Kozyra and wife Wendy of Nashua, NH; brother Clarence Fosdick, Jr and wife Jacqui of Saratoga Springs , NY; sisters Jane Wheeler and husband Richard of S Natick, MA; Irene LaCasse of Williamsburg, MA; Mary Jane Green and husband Dale of Andover, NY. Carolyn loved her nine grandchildren, Kayleigh, Jenna, Julia, Morgan, Jake, Jordan, Ryan, Lindsey, and Connor. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
