Carroll âAndyâ Anderson, 81, died peacefully on June 2, 2009 after a brief illness.
Andy was born June 6, 1927 in Gloucester, Massachusetts, to Augustus and Emma Anderson. He was the youngest of 10 children. He graduated from Wentworth Institute in Boston, Massachusetts after his service in the Navy during WW II. He worked for different manufacturing companies in Massachusetts, and was last employed at Gloucester Engineering until his retirement in 1992. He enjoyed woodworking, boating, fishing and being with his family and grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Genevieve Anderson, and seven siblings.
In His Life: Family members include three sons and their wives; Thomas Anderson & Shirley Yoshida of Cincinnati, Ohio, Phillip & Priscilla Anderson of Manchester, New Hampshire and Richard & Mary Ann Anderson of Hampton, New Hampshire; a daughter and partner, Linda Anderson & Duke Marston of Hope, Maine; six grandchildren, Eric Anderson, Adam Anderson, Hannah Anderson, Derek Drechsler, Jeffrey Anderson, and Abigail Anderson; two sisters, Shirley Dennen of Bonita Springs, Florida and Ruth Rapp of Rockport, Massachusetts.
Services: A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2009 at The Gloucester House Restaurant 63 Rogers Street, Gloucester, MA from 2:00 to 4:00 PM for family and friends. His wishes to be cremated and his ashes scattered at sea off of Halibut Point, Gloucester will be filled at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lewy Body Dementia Association, Inc. 912 Killian Hill Road SW, Suite 202C, Liburn, GA 30047. The Cremation Society of New Hampshire assisted with the arrangements.
