Catherine Bartholomew

Catherine Bartholomew, 82, of Manchester, NH was called home by the Lord on Saturday January 7, 2012 at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester.

She was born on February 14, 1929 in Reggio Calabria, Italy the daughter of Felici and Maria (Amante) Iannazzo. She was raised in Italy and came to the US in 1957. She lived in Chelsea, MA before moving to NH 10 years ago.

She worked as a nurse's aide at the Soldiers Home and at Chelsea Memorial Hospital. Previously she had owned Italian Villa restaurant in Chelsea.

Catherine truly enjoyed spending time with her family as well as her special friends Aline, Judy and her South Porter family. She was a very social person who loved to reminisce and tell stories. She was active with the Easter Seals program. She also enjoyed watching Lawrence Welk, 60 Minutes, and several cooking shows and had a great love of Princess Diana. Catherine was a very caring and compassionate person.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Natalie Martin and her husband Gene of Manchester; son, Dominic Bartholomew and his wife Renee of East Boston, MA; grandchildren, Gene Martin, Jr., Corey Martin and Trevar Martin all of Manchester, Cathy Bartholomew of Chelsea, Frank Bartholomew of Gloucester, Jordan Bartholomew of East Boston; 4 great grandchildren, Jake, Julie, Hayley and Frank; her siblings and family members in Italy, and her 2 beloved grand dogs, Harley and Pedro. She was predeceased by her husband Erasmo Bartholomew and her son Frank Bartholomew.

Her Memorial Gathering will be on Saturday at the Cremation Society of NH, 243 Hanover St, Manchester on Saturday from 10:00AM to 12:00PM. Her Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 12:00PM.
